The Tenvis TH661 review is dedicated to an affordable indoor security camera that captures video in 1080p resolution. It can pan and tilt, covering a full 360° area to cover the whole room.
At 5.1 x 4.1 x 4.1 inches, this model can be considered as one of the smallest indoor cameras on the market. It also weighs less than one pound (0.85 lbs).
The TN661 is perfectly suitable to keep an eye on somebody or something as it’s equipped with a sensitive motion sensor. Just install the Tenvis TH661 app on your smartphone to receive push notifications as it detects some moves (there is also an email alert function). It will also send you a 15-second motion tracking video so you know exactly what happened.
The app allows you to fully control the TN661. One can pan and tilt the camera, take snapshots, zoom in and out, record, and change the brightness and contrast of the image. It’s also possible to set the camera to move to certain points. The app can be used to monitor several locations simultaneously if you buy two or more TH661 Tenvis cameras. As you install the driver, you will be able to control the camera using your computer.
This model is equipped with two-way audio. This means that you can both listen and talk to the person that is in the same room with the camera. Both the speaker and the mic feature a noise-cancellation system. If the dual-way audio function isn’t turned on manually, the video will be recorded with no sound. There is also a Night Vision mode that turns on automatically. 11 infrared lights provide 32-foot visibility in the dark. This camera uses high-tech optic lenses that provide clear and sharp images. The device supports up to 128GB SD card storage. This will allow you to record and save 60 days of video. Sadly, cloud storage is not available.
The Tenvis TH661 camera setup is very simple. You don’t have to perform any complex configurations beforehand, just connect it to 2.4Ghz WiFi or to your home network using an Ethernet cable, install the app, and you are ready to go. Moreover, the app allows connecting the TN661 to the smartphone network to view the camera when you are not at home. However, since a mobile network leads to slow data transmission, you will have to change the image quality from HD to SD
The camera comes with a mounting kit which consists of plastic support and screws. It allows you to mount the unit on the wall or ceiling. The package also includes a power supply, a network cable, a Tenvis TH661 manual, and a CD with Tenvis software.
The camera goes in a simple white pear-like plastic case. The case has a glossy finish that does retain fingertips. The upper part is black, has a spherical shape, and can be tilted to 120° and panned to 355°. On the rear, there is a directional antenna, Ethernet connector, micro SD card slot, and 5V/1A DC-In power connector. The base of the device has four silicone feet that ensure stability. The speaker is located on the right side of the camera while the mic hole and light sensor can be found on the front.
The Tenvis TH661 captures video in HD quality and sends you real-time images. It also has a Night Vision capability and covers a 360° area. The motion sensor allows you to easily monitor what is happening in another room.
